Linda Brist, Worker, Oregon
Linda Brist is a 2x2 worker who has been on the Oregon staff. She is the one who helped convince me to quit listening to the workers after she told me that I should obey the workers above God.
After Dave Nealon told me to quit reading and praying with Phu, I started interviewing workers to find out their real beliefs. In the presence of Hazel Hanson and a young red-head girl worker, I asked Linda Brist, "If a worker teaches something different and against what Jesus taught, should a saint follow Jesus or the worker?" She told me that I should obey the workers instead of God and that God would sort it out later. I knew this was not of God. And I knew that after all these years in the 2x2 work, this is what she really believed. Good to hear it from her own mouth. This was the word that I needed to quit going to the workers' meetings for good. At this point, I had quit going to the Sunday morning meetings at Jeff Udings house. I had already quit going to the "gospel" meetings of Dave Nealon and his companions.
Here is an old post of mine from a message board about May 26, 2006:
Linda Brist said this. There were two other workers present there at that time.
It was at Doug Corcoran's home.
After experiencing rejection from the elders in the Portland field and the workers in the Portland field for following what Jesus taught in resolving offenses, I noticed a pattern in doctrine.
Since there was consistency in rejecting what Jesus taught, I thought it was possible that some other doctrine was taught instead of Christ.
So I planned on asking workers in another field to see if I got the same response.
I wrote up about 3 pages of doctrinal questions to get a vague idea about what they believed.
I called up Linda Brist and asked if I might have a visit with her and she said that would be fine.
There were 3 workers there when I arrived, which was fine with me.
I explained why I was there and gave the copies of my questions and told them I would like answers.
Linda asked me who I was to be asking these questions. That was not in alignment with the Spirit.
I asked the questions and got down aways. I was very disturbed by the answers.
So I just got down to it and asked her.."If a worker teaches something different and against what Jesus taught, should a saint follow Jesus or the worker." She said "You should follow the worker, because in the end it will be revealed whether what they said was right" (I'm quoting as exact as I can remember)
This was not of God. This was of the devil. So I asked her to be sure.
"Are you thinking out loud, musing or are you telling me this?", I asked her.
She said as plain as day, "I'm telling you this."
I told her this directly conflicted with the scripture that I had read to her earlier, and pointed it out again. She seemed from my recollection to be amused at my concern about what she said.
I asked a couple more light question, thanked them for my time and left.
You see, at this point I realized that the workers are not following God, have no intention and are amused by and ridicule those who follow God. The ones who pretend and are somewhat sincere are so afraid of losing their "place in the ministry" from the overseer, that they preach lies and avoid the gospel so they don't offend the overseer.
After telling several older brother workers about what Linda had said, some said "I don't believe it" and others said "That's not right". But not one of them lifted a finger to help me or comfort me or do anything to keep Linda Brist from spreading her false teachings.
So I learned that they must inwardly agree with her, and I believe they just didn't have the guts to say that to my face.
So there you have it. Go ask Linda if this is so. Ask her about the questions. I might try to find them on my computer and post them for everyone to read.
Most people who ask about this don't really care if it's true or not. They're just curious about life and issues. They don't really care about doctrines or beliefs and "mental people" who are trying to know God.
The workers lead people to hell and break down faith in Jesus Christ. In fact they don't even believe that Jesus Christ is God. Jesus Christ leads people to heaven. If you want to know if I'm telling you the truth, you can: join the workers or follow Christ to find out for yourself.
This is my testimony. I have seen and heard these things myself. I have told my mom and dad of these things and dad still went to meetings (Dad has left since I initially wrote this page and he now believes in Jesus Christ and the New Testament, praise God!). So I've learned that people go to meetings out of habit and often don't care until somebody prods them about it to wake up.
I'm thankful that God used Linda Brist and her evil counsel to help me understand that sin leads to death but repentance of sin, faith and obedience to Jesus Christ brings life.
Linda Brist is still a popular worker on the Oregon Staff.
