Texas and the 2x2 Religion
Texas is home to many in the 2x2 religion. The Texas 2x2 overseer is Lyle Schober. The 2x2 religion has four annual church conventions - Happy, Texarkana, Georgetown and Mountain Peak.
Texas Overseer Lyle Schober's Ultimatum
From what I've heard through stories and accounts, the Texas 2x2 overseer Lyle Schober will excommunicate anyone that tells him to his face that:
"I believe Jesus Christ is God, salvation through faith in God brings salvation, and anyone who has faith in God is saved whether they go to meetings or not.
Anyone who doubts this can just try it and submit their experience in the form below.

Texas 2x2 LETTERS
Ray Hoffman's Letter to 2x2 Texans about Child Sexual Abuse
When Ray Hoffman was overseer of Texas, he wrote about the problem of Ira Hobbs child sexual abuse allegations. See the Texas CSA letter that Ray Hoffman wrote to the 2x2 friends about two or more workers Ira Hobbs and Americo Quespe in Texas who were being investigated about child sexual abuse.
Dale Gardner Excommunicated for Confronting Workers about CSA
Dale Gardner wrote letters to the workers stating "workers have been sexually immoral to members of my family". He expressed his sadness when sexual offending workers were moved to new fields to have more victims instead of confronting the crimes they committed. He sought to have a meeting to correct the unrighteous pedophile deeds of Ira Hobbs. So what was the result? Dale Gardner was excommunicated by the upset overseer. This is a prime example of what happens to people who complain about sexual abuse by workers.
Here is a picture that was taken of the 2x2 workers at a convention that I attended when I lived in Texas in about 1999/2000.
Texas 2x2 News
Doug Carlson Has a Talk with Brandon Miller for Dating an Outsider Christa Hageman
Doug Carlson and a few elders had a talk with Brandon Miller and Christa Hageman. Brandon Miller was a 2x2. Brandon was dating and living out of wedlock with Christa. Christa claimed she was a Christian.
Brandon Miller is the son of Brenda Miller.
Brandon's meeting attendance was spotty. He was telling lies to Christa that she could take part in meetings even though she wasn't professing (she didn't anyway). Doug Carlson and the elders asked him to drop the Christian girl he was dating, citing that they were unequally yoked (Brandon being a 2x2 and Christa Hageman wasn't professing). Doug Carlson advised Brandon to get back to regular meeting attendance or he would be asked to not take part in meetings.
Brandon falsely claims that they took away his part in the meetings which wasn't true. Doug Carlson and the other elders just told him that they would if he didn't quit dating an outsider and he didn't have regular meeting attendance. At this talk, Christa found out that Brandon had been lying to her the whole time about the 2x2s believing she was saved because she claimed to be Christian.
Even though Brandon was telling lies to Christa, (and Christa found out at the talk with Doug Carlson) she married Brandon. Christa married without the blessing of her Christian parents who profusely warned her against Brandon. Christa's brother Dan Hageman who claims to be a Christian, helped Christa get together with Brandon even though Dan Hageman too believed Brandon was in a cult. Dan Hageman lives with his wife Lori Hageman in Green Lane Pennsylvania which is close to Telford, PA where Christa used to live.
News from McAllen, TX
This was posted on boardhost by "rs"on September 13, 2012, 6:44 pm. I cannot confirm or deny it. I am merely quoting what I read on boardhost.com website. If you have any evidence for or against this, please send it to me along with your full contact information through the form at the bottom of this page.
Julie Pedersen a daughter to Bob & Janelle Pedersen that live in McAllen, Texas was found dead this afternoon. Bob & Janelle have meeting in their home. They mentally & physically abused Julie all her life. She turned to drugs. Julie told me years ago how her parents would decide what to speak on for their Sunday meeting sermon that would be directed at certain people in the meeting. Julie was pressured by her mom to say and do a lot of things to manipulate and criticize people.
If someone has Laverne Sparks contact information, then someone could try to contact Laverne Sparks (the sister worker) and verify at least that part of the post.
This is horrible! Having been raised a 2x2, and been in meetings in almost all 50 states, I have seen and heard some pretty sad stories. It is important that people find out the truth. I encourage you to contact all of Julie Pedersen's friends and please share what you find out.

Texas 2x2s - A Stronghold
Texas is a stronghold for the 2x2 cult. I am putting this page together as an exercise to show the scope and organization of the 2x2 religion largely established and founded by William Irvine in 1897. The 2x2 movement was originally started in Ireland by William Irvine who broke away from the Faith Mission and started teaching that he was sent by God. The 2x2s split off later, taking power away from William Irvine, whose following "The Message People" continue to this day.
Texas Friends - Money and Financial Resources
From what I remember in the book The Secret Sect by Doug and Helen Parker, Texas could supply the whole world of 2x2 overseers AND workers with funds.
Workers's Fields in Texas
The Texas overseer has divide the state into 14 "fields" so that workers know their geographical boundaries of where they can preach their 2x2 gospel.
Texas Workers Managed by the 2x2 Texas Overseer
There are about 44 workers employed (hired/fired/admitted/dismissed) by the 2x2 Texas overseer. Harold Bennett, the 2x2 overseer in Oregon, told me that he and his staff of workers do not pay or file income taxes even though they are clergy, ministers.
I have had a report about John Culver who was making advances on a woman. Which isn't surprising because my first companion in the 2x2 work had three affairs within three years, two of which were with married women.
