Message to Young Women

The 2x2 Grapevine

  1. You tell someone that you trust. Then you tell them not to tell anyone (yea! right!)
  2. Because they're just dying to talk, they tell someone else that they trust.
  3. Go to step 2

Say your sins don't get on the grapevine. Perhaps you have heard about the day of Judgment? Can we fool God? Do we want to? Do we want to lie to ourselves?

Another Scenario:

You tell your folks some about a girl who was alone with a guy in his house. Your folks tell their trusted friends. Their trusted friends tell someone else. Eventually everyone knows. You find out nearly last! And do you think the story gains or loses accuracy as it gets passed along?

A Good Name

The Bible says:
Pro 22:1 A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.

How can you get a good name back? It's very difficult. If you sin, God is your only answer.

Ungodly Men

Girls, ungodly men do not care about your reputation. They don't care if they have you over to their place alone, and you are called a slut by others. They don't care about the appearance of evil. They are not going to read you the list of consequences and sign on the dotted line. They are not going to tell you when to say "no". They want to use you and discard you. Thieves come to steal and kill, do they not? Have you ever read about a loving thief? Think about that before flirting with them. Do you want a bad reputation? Do you want to be a single mother with a child to nurture and no help from a husband? There are some serious consequences to life outside of God's will. God has given us his Word because He LOVES US! Yea! If you are tempted, flee! Don't sit down with him on the couch and try to reason! See what the the apostle Paul wrote to Timothy:

2Ti 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Low Morals Attracts Evil Men

If you as a girl, engage in "dubious" activities, your reputation will follow you. If you now have a bad reputation, what type of guy is going to be interested in you? OK, I'll tell you. It's going to be a guy who is looking for a girl with low morals. Why? Is he wanting to court you? NO! He's going to want to date you. He's going to want to "hook up" with you at convention, or on a road trip. He's going to want to get you alone, away from other caring friends. He's going to want to take advantage of your weakness. Does he care if it continues to destroy your reputation? No! He's going to use you. And maybe you plan on using him. But think about it. Now what? After you've had your "fun" in sin, what next? Do you think an honorable gentleman who has developed marketable job skills and is looking for a dependable faithful woman to marry, do you think he is going to set his eyes on you after he hears of your reputation? OK. You get the picture. Everyone has a reputation, don't they?

The Mire of A Bad Reputation

So maybe you as a "professing woman" try going to conventions out of state. But then, while you are there, people will ask about you. Women will talk, inquiring about you. And the young kids who are doing the same as you, will tell their stories. Your reputation will spread. Why do you think other young people go to so many other conventions out of state? Plus, there is the Internet. See? I write one story and tens of thousands of people view it. Wait until a story about you goes on Facebook or circulates in the women's tents. Then what? Maybe you'll quit going to meetings. That won't save you. You need to turn to God. If your mom doesn't care about you and she has a reputation as a slut, then find a real Christian woman in your neighborhood who cares about you. Your life is valuable. Be Holy to the LORD. Desire a faithful man who will desire a faithful wife. Just because others settled for less doesn't mean you have to. God knows all of us. He made us. He knows our needs and our desires. He is able to keep us. Turn to the Lord.

The Bible clearly tells us what to do to avoid this quagmire of sin. The commandments of God are written for our good, to help us and to bless us.

1Co 6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. - Jesus Christ speaking to Saul, see Act 26:18, see Salvation through Jesus Christ.
