God is Good

God is good. God always has been Good. God is good now. God always will be good.

God's Goodness

If there is one thing that has most profoundly affected my life, it is God's goodness. Having been raised in a cult group where hypocrisy was normal, it was a big change to understand how God is good. I am ashamed to say that I didn't always believe God is good.

God's Goodness in Creation

The creation of God shows his goodness. Consider all the things that God has created for us that are good: light, sea, land, grass, animals, trees, herbs, fish etc. Think of how much enjoyment these things bring. Think of all the good things we have to eat and creation that we have to live in. Truly creation shows God's goodness.

Gen_1:4  And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
Gen_1:10  And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
Gen_1:12  And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
Gen_1:21  And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

and so on. Just read Genesis 1 for a good reminder list of good things God created and did.

Only God is Good

A man came to Jesus Christ, calling him "Good master.." and Jesus Christ asked him rhetorically "Why are you calling me good?" as if to say "Are you calling me good because you see that I am God?"

Mat_19:17  And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Mar_10:18  And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
Luk_18:19  And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.

Jews Wanted to Stone Jesus Christ because He Claimed to be God

Joh_10:33  The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

Is it right to stone a person (Emanuel = God with us) who is perfect and without sin?

How Good is God?

God is so good, the he is longsuffering towards us. When we do evil and do not consider him, he suffers. And God is patient in his suffering. Not many people have a lot of patience, but God does. He doesn't want any to perish. He is longsuffering towards us.

Jesus Christ Died for Us

Rom_5:7  For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

How many people would even die for a righteous man? But yet Jesus Christ, God our Saviour, took on us all OUR sins and suffered on the cross and died for us. How many good people do you know that would do this?

God is good. Every day of the week God is good. Nobody is good like God. Only God is good.

To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. - Jesus Christ speaking to Saul, see Act 26:18, see Salvation through Jesus Christ.
