Salvation - The Gospel Message

Salvation comes through faith in God by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I Was a Lost Child Living in Fear

When I was a little boy, my folks brought me to meetings held by workers just like their parents did, hoping I would believe the workers and profess in meetings, just like their parents did and the did.

I listened to the workers tell how we were the one true fold and that you needed to profess in meetings to be part of this fold, otherwise I was going to hell. I heard from the workers that it took a "dying" ministry (the workers) to produce a "living church" and that they were the only true servants of God.

Professing - Still Empty

I only knew of the 2x2 religion growing up. My parents didn't take me to listen to other preachers who taught other gospels and other Jesus. I went and sat in meetings for years on end and after all these years of meetings, the gospel of Jesus Christ was not made clear to me.

I did continue going to meetings like my parents wanted and eventually professed like my parents wanted. After I declared allegiance to the workers by professing in a tested meeting and received a spirit that was not of God. Then I encouraged other people to go to meetings and have the same religious form as I had of going to meetings so they could profess and get other people to go to meetings.

Going to meetings left me with an empty feeling no matter how much I denied it. Even after I professed. I was dead. I was without salvation. I didn't even understand the gospel of Jesus Christ, much less the scripture. I lived in fear of dying. I didn't know if I was going to hell or heaven. I was lost. I was without hope. My hope of "professing" to take away this emptiness did not succeed. I was just another "professing person" following the workers. I didn't have power of God to keep the commandments of God because after all those meetings I didn't even know God, nor his commandments.

Baptized by Workers into Their Gospel

A couple years later about the age of 10 or 11, I was baptized by workers. It was nothing like the baptisms of John the Baptist which we read about in the gospels. We didn't confess and repent of our sins. None of us received the holy Spirit like you read in Acts. It was simply a dunking by workers, without God.

Becoming a Worker

Even when I became a worker I was dead. After selling everything and giving all my money to the workers like they asked, this too did not take away the emptiness. I still didn't know God nor understand or believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ ("Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand").

I had hoped as a worker that things would get better because I had chosen the "better part" (better than getting married). But it was not so. Emptiness followed me as a worker too.

I tried to be a good worker. I preached as a worker that we were the only right way and people needed to come to meetings and profess. But even as a worker I prayed desperately (more than ever before) that God would show me the truth. I was afraid of being honest about my lost condition. Was there something wrong with me if I was in the "only way" and still wasn't at peace with God? Thankfully after much searching and struggle, God did help me believe in Jesus Christ.

Finally Believing God

At the age of 33, I was trying to help a friend. In desperation, I turned to the Bible and actually started to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. I read the scripture for answers, and found them. I started following what Jesus said to do. This caused quite a division between the workers and I. They didn't like me following the Bible. I had "the wrong spirit" according to them. They told me not to follow Jesus' teachings. I asked them what they recommended instead. No answer was given. After getting to know the scripture, I could see they were not. I was disgusted with them. I quit going to the meetings. I was repulsed and sickened by their behavior. I abhorred it. I knew there was something better. I still wanted to know God. I had learned to obey God in a small way and believed He would help me.

Trying Other Churches

I went to churches, and saw the hypocrisy. Yes, all have sinned, have we not? But still, the theology of the churches contradicted themselves. How were we to love one another as commanded by Moses if we were not to keep the teachings of God? Were there two Gods? - A God of the old testament and a God of the New Testament as many taught through insinuation?

I was confused when trying to understand their theology. I quit going to listen to these self-contradictory pastors at churches who taught things contrary to the Bible. But just because they were hypocritical (so was I) and because they contradicted themselves (so did I) did not mean God was wrong. I wanted to know the God of the Bible. So I set to reading the scripture, from Genesis on, word for word. It was a great decision, and I thank God for helping me.

Learning about God's Salvation

If you would read your Bible to see what Noah, Moses, Aaron, David, Zechariah, the apostle Paul and all the men of faith have in common, it is faith in God. Yes, simply faith in God.

You don't read about them teaching a homeless ministry in pairs or meetings in the home. These faith-filled men tried to keep the commandments of God, but all of them sinned like all of us. (Sin is failing to keep the commandments of God). These same men of God, of like passion as I, realized their sin and hoped for salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ. There were waiting for the Messiah to purge their conscience. I learned from the scripture that "it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul" Lev 17:11.

Only the blood of Jesus Christ can take away our sins, that's why I have faith in God now instead of the workers and am saved by God's grace for sure, not by earning my way to heaven. Now I know and strive to keep God's commandments because His commandments are His will. I strive to keep his commandments and instructions for me out of my trust and faith in God, not out of a sense of earning salvation.

And I love God for what he has done for me and because he has forgiven me so much. God loves righteousness and His commandments are good, holy and righteous. God's love is manifest through His word. I have learned that Jesus Christ himself, He is the Way, our Salvation, and no one else. I thank and praise the LORD for his salvation, for the privilege of knowing God, for the rest and peace of heart knowing I am saved by God's grace and that I don't have to fear losing my salvation because I broke a commandment of some man. I think most of all, I am grateful for having an understanding of salvation that applies equally well to all men of faith in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation and am able to receive that salvation by faith in God. Praise the LORD. God is good. Ask and you will receive. I hope that you have the courage to be honest with yourself also and get to know God who has created heaven and earth and who has power to put us in heaven or cast us into the lake of fire.

Please allow me to share with you more details of the gospel message through the scriptures. If you have been raised in meetings in a professing household, then you probably don't understand them, because I didn't even understand the importance of them as a worker. It's not complicated, here goes:

God Created Heaven and Earth

God created heaven and earth. He made man. He has authority over all of us. What he says goes.

God has Given Commandments

God has given us commandments. For example: Thou shall not steal. Thou shalt not kill. Love your neighbor as yourself.

Sin - Breaking Commandments

Sin is the breaking of God's commandments. God said not to steal. When I was a child, I stole a piece of Candy from an grocery store. So my mother could not see me, I ducked down beside my bed when I ate it. But I was convicted of this sin. I felt the pain of living in sin. I knew God saw me steal it and eat it. I was a sinner.

Years later I went back and paid for the stolen candy, with interest. I reconciled with them.

All Have Sinned Since Adam and have Died

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;...
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

All of us are sinners. None of us is without sin, save for Jesus Christ.

Our Best Righteousness is Useless for Earning Salvation

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Sin Brings Death

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We need eternal life. We cannot earn eternal life by our own effort or works.

Jew or Gentile - The Day of Judgment

Romans 2:3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

God's goodness and forbearance is not condoning sin, but is waiting for us to repent. We need to see his goodness and thank him for his patience and turn to him for help.

Fearful Looking Forward to Judgment Day Because of Sin

Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

If we deny we are sinners and don't repent, then we will face the judgment and wrath of God without our Saviour. Oh sad day! We are wise to seize the opportunity of our Saviour and confess our sins and learn to live in his light and hope.

Torment without Christ - Our Decision is Permanent!

Luke 16:25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Redemption by Blood

The scriptures teach that it is the blood that makes an atonement for the soul.

Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

How are We Saved? Just Like Abraham

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Who Can Save Us? Jesus Christ Can!

John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
Luke 23:33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
Hebrews 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

How Can We be Saved? Repent and Believe

Mark 1:14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Saving Righteousness Through Faith In God

Genesis 15:4 And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir. And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
Romans 4:2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

Receive Jesus Christ

Salvation comes by receiving Jesus Christ. This is how we become born again. When we receive Jesus Christ and believe on his name, then our spirits are born by the Holy Spirit. Power from God comes by receiving Jesus Christ. In Jesus Christ is life. This life is the light of all men.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Joh 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Confess Jesus Christ with your Mouth

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Now You Know that You are Saved

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

What Next?

Don't worry if Satan makes you feel guilty for leaving the cult

1 John 3:20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

Don't have much faith? Don't worry, Just Beg for Some

Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

Let God work in you to do his work and good pleasure

Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

The Two Greatest Commandments

Luke 10:25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

Evidence of Faith in God

1 John 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
Mark 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Enjoy Fellowship with God and His Cleansing in Our Lives

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Be Baptized with Water

Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead. And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Be Baptized with the Holy Spirit by Jesus Christ

John 1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
Acts 5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
