Healing Through Faith in God Over Time

Some say that "time heals", "just give it time". I don't believe that time alone heals. Healing can take much time, but also evil over time does not heal. I've not seen evidence of healing without faith in God, nor have I seen evidence of it in other people's lives. Rather, time without faith in God has resulted in divorces, split families, enmity, bitterness, hatred, emulation, obsessions, deceit, lying, libel, broken sibling relationships and split churches. In greater detail, here's what I've seen that happens with time.

Jer 4:22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
Jer 13:10 This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.
Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Offenses, Anger and Time

When people find out that they have been deceived by their parents, ELDERS, WORKERS and OVERSEERS and leave the 2x2 cult, most of them are angry. They are upset because they've wasted so much time, been taken advantage of, and have been robbed of time that could have been invested in good, healthy relationships.

How People Deal with Hurt Over Time

There are several ways that people deal with this hurt. And if it isn't handled properly, the anger resides and comes out at different times. Many memories may fade away, but many memories do not, having been etched hurt deeply by the wickedness and severity of the pain inflicted. These memories resurface over time as they go through different relationships and some topics are brought up. People find that they have never really healed.

Time and Silence

Some people just leave and don't say a word. They quit talking with the 2x2s and go on their way. They may be confused, feel guilty, start blaming themselves, blame the WORKERS, not know what to think and never try to get to know God. I would say that most people who have interacted with the 2x2s take this route. This is why hundreds of thousands of people have not shared their story and why so many child sexual abuse cases are simply unknown as of yet. These people who remain quiet are prime targets for other cults or even rejoining the 2x2s later in life. This is why marrying an ex2x2 who has never healed is dangerous. Because of their beliefs and lack of healing, you cannot predict what they will do next. Even people who have married ex2x2s for years have been divorced as the ex2x2 leaves them and goes back to MEETINGS. What you don't know can hurt you.

Outbursts and Finally Withdrawal

A second method that people use over time is to lash out and get really angry. They may get in heated arguments, and then leave. They want justice. They may even want vengeance. But the lashing out only hardens the 2x2s and they get more deap-seated in their evil ways. This causes the person to be depressed, sad and simply withdraw from the 2x2s and move on. Since they have not healed, their future relationships are jeapordized. And these future relationships which have been marred by their past cause more pain which reminds them of the initial hurt which has not healed.

Outbursts convict the 2x2s of nothing. They just harden their heart and are not convicted.

Acceptance and Time

Some people who leave try to accept the 2x2s. They may be embarassed that they were so deceived and because of their pride in new-age beliefs claim that the 2x2s are Christians and they're not going to "judge". They may try to accept the 2x2s and just "forgive" even when their is no repentance of change in anybody's life. They have a shallow understanding of the Bible and are often caught up in new-age religion and try to "think positive". They hope (without premise) that the 2x2s will accept them as they have tried to accept the 2x2s. They take at face value the initial acceptance that the 2x2s showed when they first recruit people. But it doesn't work. 2x2s may show initial acceptance and "love", but it is short lived and finally the 2x2 true beliefs come to light. And so the "healing" and "hope" initially felt by those that try to accept the 2x2s as Christians is shattered. These people who continue in their false hope and "positive thinking" are at the feet of the same idols as the 2x2s who are trying to reconcile the words and actions of the OVERSEERS, WORKERS and ELDERS. Time reveals that these people have a false hope, and this is no healing at all. Calling cult members "Christians" does not change their deeds or change who God is. We just deceive ourselves. And the 2x2s themselves reject Christians from fellowshiping with them. A person who lies on behalf of 2x2s to make them appear good does not change who they are, it just reveals who they are.

Jer 13:23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.
Isa 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Psa 52:3 Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.

Vengeance and Evil

A person who has been hurt by the 2x2s may decide to execute vengeance. And so they go about in their minds the different ways of exacting vengeance. They may want to slash their tires, key their car, flood their house etc. And when they wait some time and don't see any evil happening to the evil person, they may take things into their own hands. Vengeance may consume the person and their thoughts turn towards causing harm. The may turn towards telling lies. Ironically enough, 2x2s feel they have been hurt by those who tell the truth about the cult and try to exact "vengeance" on Christians by telling people that they are full of lies, blah, blah blah. Either way, vengeance is God's. And doing evil to others does not bring healing. Even when people have done vengeance, they find that healing has not taken place in their heart. That is because vengeance is God's, not ours. We need to trust that God will recompense and that the foot of the evil person will slide IN DUE TIME. It's God's timing and not ours. And his timing may come much later that we want.

See no Evil, Hear no Evil, Speak no Evil

Some people claim ignorance. "It didn't happen to me, so I cannot judge it. I don't want to hear about it anymore." They may plant seeds of doubts to keep others from believing in the eye-witness accounts of others who have been hurt. These people are often part of the group of offenders and are just finding an excuse to avoid listening to the problems because they have a vested interest in promoting injustice. Even when shown hundreds of incidents of wrong, child sexual abuse, adultery, fornications, lies taught by the OVERSEERS, willful promotion of false teachings, idolatry, lust, greed etc, they still claim the 2x2s are Christians. There is no healing in this. And I believe in time, they will reap the fruit of their ways. They will eventually be offended. Playing with vipers has a reward of it's own.

Deu_1:16 And I charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously between every man and his brother, and the stranger that is with him.

Healing Through Faith

Very, very, very few heal through faith in God. Here's how it is done: Believe in God. Some people (myself included) believe in God and that what God says is for our own good. There are certain stories and verses in the Bible that have helped me immensely. Here's what I've found of how God says to heal and how I have healed over time as I let go of my own will and trust in the LORD.

Healing, Reproof and the Passing of Time

The Bible teaches that offenses will happen. And that offenses are not good. Anybody invovlved with 2x2s knows about their many offenses. Offenses are what causes the pain in our souls when we are wronged or wrong others.

Acceptance of evil and withholding judgment does not make things better.

Vengeance, Recompense

Deu 32:35 To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.

This verse has been very powerful in helping me. Sometimes through the abundance of lies and deceit, we can be swayed and begin to doubt God. But God's assurance is his word. God said that vengeance is his. Should we doubt that God will keep his word? The very God that has blessed us with sunshine and rain? The makes food to grow out of the dust of the ground? Also, God said that recompence is his. I just noticed this. When people are wronged, then the recompense goes to the person who was wronged. Here's another verse that uses the word recompense.

Num_5:7 Then they shall confess their sin which they have done: and he shall recompense his trespass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the fifth part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he hath trespassed.

So when we as Christians are wronged, we can trust in the LORD to do vengeance and also recompense us. Is this not healing to have God (who does all things well) avenge us and compensate us for the wrong? This is a good, pure hope. Next, in Deuteronomy it says "their foot shall slide in due time". If you have seen someone rob a person, and have warned them, but they appear to get away with it, then you hope that they get caught and that justice is done. This is normal. The Bible tells us that "their foot shall slide in due time". This assures us that what God has said is true (we should not steal) and so when we see the robber get caught, then we can be assured that it is not wise to rob people. Time reveals what is wisdom and what is not. Faith in God's word keeps us from evil and assurance of God's work brings healing to our soul.

Recompensing Evil

Pro 20:22 Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.

When we have been wronged, we may plan ways of doing evil to the person who has wronged us. God doesn't want us to do this. He encourages us to "wait on the LORD". Waiting on God takes faith. In time we see that the LORD recompenses evil. Faith in the LORD recompensing evil brings healing to our soul. We are comforted as God takes care of us.

Being Recompensed

Pro 13:21 Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed.

No Joy in Evil

2x2s have often delighted when a non2x2 who has reproved them suffers somehow. I have seen this on the message boards and it is evil. They rejoice to see evil happen to someone. And the same can happen when people leave the cult and see some evil befall a 2x2. It works both ways. But God said not to rejoice when other's fall. God wants us to love the evil people as well as the good.

Exposing Evil in Time

Ecc_12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

It is God's work to bring every work into judgement with every secret thing, either good or evil. God also instructs us to warn people, reprove wrong-doers and not hide his word but to share it with others.

Eph 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

Waiting on God

Mal_2:17 Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, Where is the God of judgment?

Some people who are the benefactors of God's patience and mercy begin to believe that God has accepted them and what they are doing.

Psa 50:21 These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

Why Has God Allowed This?

Since we know so little, and God knows so much, we are obligated to trust that the LORD is executing his word. Here's a verse that has helped me as I've wondered why I was 33 years old before exiting the cult. I was 18 years old and a WORKER when I prayed with tears and cried out to the LORD that God would show me the truth. Here's God's answer to this question of why it took so long and what I went through:

Gen 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

I believe that because of what I've been through, the stories I've heard and the evil I've suffered that God has used it for good to be a help and encouragement to ten of thousands of people. I know the joy that I feel in my heart when people send me messages through the website, being so relieved that the cult is just that "a cult" and not of God. And many people who have left find comfort after doubting the WORKERS and being wronged by them, assurance that they were not wrong to leave the offenders. I many not save many people alive like Joseph did, but people have told me that how God uses me has brought them help and encouragement. When I first started this website I had no idea of how many people it would reach.

If you've been wronged by the 2x2s, then God can use you to reach out to others. You can reprove them for their wrong, go to those who have wronged you and try to settle things, witness to them the gospel of Jesus Christ and do good works to those who are evil. This will help to convict them of evil and bring blessing to your soul and others.

Amo 5:14 Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken.
Amo 5:15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
Luk 6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Rom 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
1Th 5:15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
1Pe 3:16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
