Why Did I Hate Christians When I was a 2x2?

Why did I hate Christians when I was a 2x2? Why did I lie about them? Why?

I started to read pschyology books about cults when I left the cult. That's because some psychologists had books on cults. Then I found out that the Bible described the cult better than any psychologist could. Then I realized the psychologists didn't understand much and that I could learn from the Bible and understand what happened to me better than reading those books. And my faith in God has increased where I can ask hard questions now...questions that would have scared me before.

Why Did I Hate Christians as a 2x2?

If you would have asked me as a 2x2, why I hated Christians, I would have told you that I didn't hate them. But today, if I could ask myself when I was a 2x2, I would ask why I was hating Christians, because I was hating them. I would have to define the word hate. Because, I think, the meaning of the word "hate" isn't well understood. So let me backtrack to "love". What is love? Love is the keeping of the commandments. And all the law and the prophets hang on two commandments: 1) Love God with all heart, soul, mind and strength and 2) Love your neighbor as yourself. Hate is opposite (mostly) of hate, so hate is "not keeping the commandments of God. That's 1) Not love God with all heart, soul, mind and strength and 2) not loving your neighbor as yourself (not treating them as you would want to be treated).

So, the question again: Why did I hate Christians as a 2x2? (Because I didn't love God with all my heart, soul, mind and strength and 2) I didn't treat people like I would want to be treated = Hate). Now I will share another thing I learned besides the other three things I just mentioned(Bible best book for understanding relationships and meaning of word love and meaning of word hate). I found that in reading the Bible, I find answers to questions I haven't asked yet. Genesis is where I found the answer to why people hate. Specifically, Cane and Abel. You know the story where Cane killed Abel. Maybe you don't. I didn't. I had to read it again. So here it is:

Gen 4:1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper? And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground. And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand; When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth. And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear. Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me. And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him. And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden. And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.

The answer was staring me in the face for years. I don't think it's simple-minded of a person to read through Genesis over and over again. There are a lot of very important lessons in it. Cain disobeyed God. He didn't love God with all his heart, soul, mind and strength. Abel obeyed God. God respected Abel's offering. Did Cain treat Abel as he would want to be treated? Definately not!

Obviously, there is more that happened after creation that we don't read about. Abel evidently knew to offer of his flock. Cain didn't offer the proper sacrifice to God. Cain rose against Abel and slew him. Cain knew it was wrong. He gave in to sin. That's why he hated his brother. So the Biblical answer to my question is simple. I hated Christians because God didn't respect my disobedience and sin. I was living in sin (boy was I!). And so I hated people who were righteous. That's sinful! I told many whopper of lies about Christians when I was a WORKER. Boy was I wrong about Christians. When I see people who despise righteous men and women, I think of Cain and Abel. I feel sorry for the the people who are hating Christians because of the emptiness that I felt when I hated Christians. I hated Christians because I was living in sin.
