Who Raised Jesus Christ from the Grave?

Someone has asked my point of view of who raised Jesus Christ from the dead. They want to know my point of view.

Here's my point of view. I wasn't there. You may think that's a funny thing for me to say. Well, I don't know of anyone alive right now who was there. Everyone living now has to refer to some source for their knowledge, and I choose the Bible. It's the best history book(among other things) in the world. And it's not like I was there and forgot a lot.

So yes, I was not there. And I've read in the Bible that the other disciples of Jesus Christ who were alive at this time (I was not alive then) did not see who raised Jesus Christ from the dead.

But, I have faith in Jesus Christ. And I believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is profitable for instruction in righteousness.

So, after doing some research, here are some places that I've found in the Bible that give a stunningly good answer to this very good question of who raised Jesus Christ from the dead.

Joh 2:18 Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things? Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? But he spake of the temple of his body.

It is clear to me from this passage that Jesus Christ said he would raise up the temple(his body) in three days. He didn't say that someone else would raise up his body in three days, he said that he would. So Jesus Christ would raise himself from the dead. And I believe the Bible and believe Jesus Christ was telling the truth and continues to tell the truth at the right hand of the Father.

If you don't mind following along a bit more, let me ask some more questions of the scripture. I'm intrigued by the question and to where it leads. I don't know of anyone who has said that they have power to raise themselves from the grave and has done it.

Where did Jesus Christ get power to raise himself from the dead?

Mat_9:8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.

I think it's obvious that Jesus Christ got power from my heavenly Father to raise himself from the grave.

Here's another question:

Who told Jesus Christ to allow himself to be crucified and then ressurect himself on the third day?

Joh 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

It's evident to me from these verses that Jesus Christ was seeking to bring others into the fold and this is why he laid down his life. I certainly cannot save people from their sins through my blood. I need Jesus Christ help as it is. And nobody else can either. Who is perfect and without fault save Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ said that he had power to lay down his life and power to take it again and that he received this commandment from the Father. So clearly (the Bible is very clear on this matter) Jesus Christ laid down his life and raised himself from the grave by the commandment and power of the Father.

I'm sure there are more scriptures on this topic, so here's some more.

Act 10:39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead. And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.

Here is says that God raised up Jesus Christ on the third day. This makes complete sense since Jesus Christ is God. You may say, "How can Jesus Christ be God?". To which I reply, this is an excellent question and please don't stop asking it to many people until you have an answer which completely satisfies your curiousity. I have written a page on my perspective on this question and the answer to it. I would like to briefly point out that Jesus Christ is God. He is perfect and accepted the worship of others (we are only to worship God, see the first commandment of the ten commandments in Exodus 20).

I would also like to point out that Jesus Christ raising himself from the dead is something special. Have you ever seen this done? I haven't. Acts 10:42 says that Jesus Christ was ordained of God to be the Judge of the quick and dead. So you can probably reach the obvious conclusion that Jesus Christ and his words carry a lot of weight and since he is the judge of the quick (alive) and dead, we need to pay attention to everything he says.

If anything I've written here seems confusing or if you want more clarification, please don't feel shy to throw a question or comment in the box below and I'll try to answer it as I have time. If you find any scripture which you think contradicts my conclusions then please, by all means, put the references in teh questions/comments box below. God bless you:)
