Which Church Should I Join?

Which Church Should I Join? Don't join a church. Fellowship with God and His own.

Agreed

Let's talk about things that nearly everyone agrees on.

The first and most important point of agreement is that joining a church does not save you. God saves you through faith and by his grace. No church can save you. Salvation is independent of joining "a church".

In many "good" churches, they agree that people in "other churches" (not cult groups) are saved or may be going to heaven.

A third point of agreement is that there are many denominations for a reason. They all disagree with each other on some issues. And they disagree to such a degree, that they break apart and do not fellowship with each other (red flag).

Another point of agreement is that you should not join all the churches. In fact, this is so obvious, that you may not of thought of that. Would you join the Baptists, Pentecostal, Lutheran etc? Probably not. And frankly, each "church" would probably say you were "nuts" or a little crazy if you joined all the denominations.

Also agreed is that in many churches you may not have fellowship because you disagree with one or more points to the point that you may leave that church and join another.

At this point you may be frustrated and confused. And rightly so. Don't they all say that you should join their church? Well, of course, because then they would feel justified if you chose THEIR church.

Please reread these common points, because they tell you the obvious conclusion:

God does not want you to join "a church"!

I've reasoned through this with obvious points that many agree on, so you can see how the conclusion is sound. But let's go through some verses that make it so obvious, that you may lightly slap your forehead with your palm and say "Of course"

I would like to point out right now that the Bible answers crazy queestions sometimes in an indirect way. For example, if you do a search on how to commit murder and get away with it, you will find that there is no answer, but by a reverse proof that you should not murder. And so you ought to find that you should never join a DIVISION of the body of Christ.

Act 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

Does it ever record in the scripture as to which church a person joined? Why not? Let's read some more.

Are you Looking for Fellowship or "A CHURCH"

I find that many people like to tell which church they attend. I don't care. Really. I don't. I don't want to go to church. I have no desire. I want fellowship with people who love the LORD Jesus Christ. If you don't know the LORD God and don't know fellowship, you many not understand. I want to share the pain and sorrow, the joy and liberation, the exaltation of the LORD and pure fellowship with the LORD Jesus Christ and His own.

So you may say "Amen, brother, I hear you. But what church should I join." And I say, "You haven't understood yet."

One of the points listed above was that the churches are divisions. Yes, they claim that other souls in other churches are saved, but they reject fellowship with them and are divided. What? How can you reject or divide against saved souls? I will fellowship with all brethren. This division is not of God. Please think about it. And also let's establish this with scripture:

Rom_16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

I had to bold the whole thing. Very relevant eh? It's as if God knows what we're human and has given us guidance on the matter? It's almost as if God made us? LOL

The Bible says "avoid them which cause divisions and offenses"

1Co_1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

Ever been to a church splitting celebration? "Hey, yah. We don't get along with 1/5 of the church, so we're breaking off, Praise the LORD???"

Conversely, have you ever been to a church joining celebration? "Hey, we realize that these people are saved. They don't like instruments when fellowshipping, but we do. So we're going to do some instrumentals some days and no instruments on other days and have charity towards each other on non-doctrinal issues."

Bible says: "that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

And I tell you that I take offense when someone tells me that there must be something wrong with me (or implies it) or implies that I'm not saved, if I don't join their church which has divided itself from others they claim are saved!

I believe, that when they cause a division, and then say that others are saved, that this is a lie and that they don't really believe it. Otherwise, if they believe the other doctrines are OK, then they have condemned themselves and have admitted that they should be marked for avoidance.

Wow! Isn't it awesome to search the scripture for guidance? Isn't it great that the Bible is so clear and leaves no doubt as to God's will? I love it. Doesn't the Word of God lift the burdens that liars place on our soul that would bring us into lifelong bondage. God's word is liberating from sin and brings us into sweet servitude to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Fellowship

Since division and lies and bickering are really dredgery and depressing, let's focus on fellowship.

Act_2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
1Co_1:9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
1Co_10:20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.
2Co_6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
