Matthew 18:10-11

Mat 18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 18:11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

  1. What does "take heed" mean?
  2. Do we have a tendency to despise some people?
  3. Are there things going on in heaven now?
  4. Do you believe in angels?
  5. What are the angels doing in heaven?
  6. What did Jesus Christ come to earth to do?
  7. What does it mean to be a "lost" soul?
  8. Do self-righteous people feel "lost"?

My Thoughts and Opinion

I have to be reminded of things. I have to be reminded not to despise others. By humbling myself before God and realizing the great love of Jesus Christ, it helps to keep me from despising other people.

In the process of offenses and dealing with offenses, there is a tendency to despise someone else. Remembering that God has come to seek the lost, keeps me from despising someone who has offended me but is a believer. God wants to save me (and them) from being lost. We are each bought with a great price. I don't want to destroy the work that God has done in someone else's life whether I am the offended person or the offender.

To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. - Jesus Christ speaking to Saul, see Act 26:18, see Salvation through Jesus Christ.
