Hymn 5 - To This Earth

Hymn 5 of the RL Allan and Son hymn book is titled To This Earth.

2x2s Don't Agree with Hymn #5

  • The hymn says "poor and homeless, unknown stranger..." but Jesus Christ was well known. Throngs of people came to hear and see his miracles. The only way that Jesus Christ was not well known, was that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. 2x2s reject this teaching of the Bible and also don't know Jesus Christ. It's just useful for them to talk about their Jesus and then go to the back after meetings to collect money through handshakes.
  • This hymn says "poor and homeless", yet the overseers of the 2x2 religion have guaranteed income according to the incorporation papers they've filed. See Alberta Society
  • This song says "From this lowly man of sorrows many hid their face" and it's ironic that 2x2s reject Jesus Christ as creator because they don't want to believe John 1:1-3 that Jesus Christ is God. So in this hymn they condemn people who hid their face from Him, yet on the other hand they plug their ears to the truth
  • This song also says "At the close his blood so precious shed for all mankind.." but yet 2x2s don't think Jesus Christ's blood is precious enough because they require people to instead claim that they are the only true servants of God. They are more interested in acceptance into their religious organization through the workers name and just give lip-service to the blood of Jesus Christ
  • Hymn 5 says "God has raised up this same Jesus, Made him Lord of all", yet 2x2s believe Jesus Christ is not Lord and that only the Father is Lord. How can there be 2 Lords and only one God? 2x2s cannot explain how they contradict this song and the scripture it refers to.

The immediate recognition of this hymn by 2x2s is the appearance of the justification that a ministry must be homeless to match the pattern they claim that Jesus Christ gave. Verse 2 of "To This Earth" starts "Foxes have their lair for shelter, Birds their leafy nest, but the loving Savior had not where to rest..."

This hymn is in reference to two scriptures:

Mat_8:20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
Luk_9:58 And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

Workers will sing this hymn before they ask WORKERS QUESTIONS to teach children that unless a ministry has homeless WORKERS, then they are of the devil. And that the reason why WORKERS go homeless is because Jesus Christ has set this as a pattern for his ministry. However WORKERS leave off other verses in the Bible such as:

Joh 1:38 Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou? He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.

This is typical of cult's to take a verse or two out of context and then build a doctrine or teaching on it that makes them the "righteous" ones and all others going to hell. This is their righteousness but it will not fool God. Their goal is to fool people and gain a following or should I say "foolowing" as they need people's homes to live off of them.

2Pe_2:15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
