Hymn #37 Nothing Matters But Salvation
The 2x2s have Hymn #37 titled Nothing Matters But Salvation in their hymn book called "HYMNS OLD AND NEW", published by RL Allan and Son.
For this song to make sense the way the 2x2s sing it, it should be titled Nothing Matters But Professing
What really doesn't make sense is that you don't believe that you can know if you are saved. So my question is, "If you really believe that nothing matters but salvation, then why in the world would you trust the workers who believe you cannot know if you are saved? Especially since the Bible is clear that you can know if you are saved? If nothing matters but salvation, then why don't you make sure you are saved? Or is this just a hymn to sing because a worker chose it, so that you can say that you "went to meetings"?
Life That Is Divine
The first verse starts with "God gives you the invitation to a life that is divine."
For those of you who put their faith in the workers, I ask you. Do you now have a divine life? Look at your family. Look at the workers. How many divorced people are there in meetings? How many have left because of the way the workers treated them? How many children have the overseers and workers molested? You haven't heard? Why have the overseers and workers covered it up? It's in the newspapers. Other people know. Since the overseers and workers lives are not divine, then this song is witness that they have accepted an invitation that was NOT given by God. Your own hymns that others have written that you put in your own hymn book witness against you.
Hear the Prophets
The second verse starts out with "Hear the prophet's exhortation..." Do you think the workers are prophets? After your gospel meeting, go up to the workers as they shake hands - collecting money after the meetings and ask them "Do you believe you are a prophet?" or another great question "Was William Irvine a true prophet? Or better yet, ask them "Do you believe you are a greater apostle than Jesus Christ who said we can know if we are saved or not?"
I know the 2x2s believe the workers are the prophets that are exhorting them when they sing this song, especially when they use it in a tested meeting. If you cannot admit to what you believe, and the hymns that you sing among the witness of dozens of people, is this not hypocrisy?
Luk_6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
And see what they say. Are you afraid of the workers? Are you afraid of the answers? Your own fear of the workers letting you down is a witness that you have a false hope and are believing in lies. If John was a true prophet, then the workers are false prophets. Who do you believe was sent by God: Jesus Christ or the workers? You cannot believe in both.
In Christ - No Condemnation
The second line of verse three of hymn #37 says "In Christ there is no condemnation - hide yourself in him from guilt". I ask you, why do 2x2s hide in the lies of the workers and repeat those on their deathbed instead of repeating what's in the Bible? Why do 2x2s choose the workers over God? Do you feel guilty for this? Why not repent of your sins and hide yourself in God? When you repeat the lies of the workers instead of putting your faith in God, are you not in fact condemning yourself when you sing this song?
Chorus - Nothing Matters But Salvation
If as a 2x2 you really believe this song, then it's time to get serious and start reading the Bible with a goal of understanding what God wants you to know instead of trying to get a testimony for Sunday morning meeting. Do the 2x2 women believe that God will inspect to see if their hair has been cut and that they wore their hair in a bun to school? Wearing your hair in a bun is not even in the Bible. What about the important things like loving God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. I think you will find as I did that when I really sought after God, I had to quit going to meetings because they just caused confusion. When I started reading my Bible for what it said, and BELIEVED IT (can you believe that?) and started doing what the Bible said to do, that's when I came to know God.
1Jn_2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
How to Get Saved
If you really want to know how to get saved, read your Bible. To be saved, you must put your faith in God.
Listening to lies week after week will not save you. Go to your local workers and ask them "What do I need to do in order to be saved and know I am going to heaven." They will probably mumble something about professing, getting baptized by worker, continuing to meetings and following them all the days of your life, blah, blah, blah. Now go and read your Bible. What about repentance of sins? What about faith in God? What about loving God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength? What about knowing God, so that you talk to others about God instead of what the workers think? What about glorifying God? What about fasting? What about giving alms? What about believing that the Bible is inerrant? What about knowing who Jesus Christ is as God?
