Hymns Old & New #6

Hymns Old & New of the 2x2 religion has hymn #6 titled "When I Survey"

Workers Disagree with Hymn #6

  • The first verse contains "...My richest gain I count but loss and pour contempt on all my pride", however the 2x2s count their richest gain as professing (which the workers have taught them), and disbelieve what Jesus Christ said about himself being God. Also they disbelieve keeping the commandments of God through faith in God. Because of their pride, they won't believe the scripture. Instead of contempt for their pride, they have contempt instead for people who have faith in God
  • The second verse contains "Forbid it Lord that I should boast save in the cross of Christ my Lord" however 2x2s often boast about their parents being ,professing, or that they professed in the workers meetings or how few meetings they missed. They don't boast in the cross of Christ because this is an offense to them. They won't confess their sins to have them born of Christ. Also Jesus Christ is not their Lord. They believe in "a god" but not Jesus Christ as God.
  • in the last line of this hymn it says "demands my soul, my life, my all" but 2x2s won't give their all to God. They give it instead to the workers and believe the workers above God.

What does it mean to give to God your soul, your life and your all? How do you do this?

What do you think it means when the Bible teaches "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength? Is Jesus Christ Lord as the Bible teaches? Do you love Jesus Christ with your all?

These are important questions. If you think I don't know God and yet I know the answer to these questions, then what does that say about the workers you have faith in who don't believe even the Bible which they claim to preach from?

And what about not believing in the very hymns you sing?

Is it any wonder why kids don't want to go to meetings when they seek the confusion and hypocrisy? Is it any wonder that many become atheists?

To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. - Jesus Christ speaking to Saul, see Act 26:18, see Salvation through Jesus Christ.
