2x2s Don't Celebrate Christmas
Do 2x2s celebrate Christmas? No, in large part the 2x2 followers do not celebrate Christmas.
I remember as a child, we had a tree one year. Almost every year we had gifts wrapped up around the fireplace and often stockings. I remember most of all, our family being together. Yes, a lot was the excitement of gettings toys and gifts.
I remember having some white Christmas lights in my apartment one year. One of the workers was over and I felt guilty and felt that I had to explain myself having Christmas lights. I do like lights during Winter season because it makes the dreary days more cheerful. I don't agree with the "Christ's Mass" part of Christmas. I am not a Roman Catholic. And also you have the mistle-toe and other customs and things reminiscent of the druid priests. Just like easter eggs, chocolate and bunnies. I wouldn't call "eggs" laid by bunnies to be "chocolate". And I would argue that Christmas and Easter are both pagan holidays according to the history books and the Bible.
I am leary of anything that "appears" to be Christian that really is not. God said that if we take his name in vain that he will not hold us guiltless. Easter and Christmass reminds me of the cult that caused me so much damage. Christmas is celebrated on December 25th, a holy day of Mithraism - the worship of the Sun. Mithraism also considers Sunday holy.
That said, I have nothing against giving gifts. I like lights. Let's decorate fences and houses besides lighting up trees. And let's call Christmas what it is - a pagan holiday. Let's celebrate Jesus Christ and the law of God written on our heart (which is the will of Jesus Christ) And let's go door to door telling people about Jesus Christ.
|To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. - Jesus Christ speaking to Saul, see Act 26:18, see Salvation through Jesus Christ.|
