Funerals of 2x2s. Workers won't officiate at marriages, but will officiate at funerals.

I believe there are several reasons for this:

  • Many 2x2 divorce, and they don't want to approve of a marriage which will later be broken
  • Workers don't want to perform a marriage of a 2x2 with a non-2x2
  • Workers don't want a non-2x2 preacher to officiate at a funeral of a 2x2 lest other's hear the gospel of Jesus Christ
  • Workers like to have the last say about whether someone went to hell or not
  • Workers like to be involved at someone's death in hopes that the person will leave them money in the will
  • Workers can use the occasion to put fear in their followers hearts of dying and having missed meetings
  • There is typically free food at a funeral
  • However workers typically dislike funerals. "Wastes the whole day", one worker told me.

Funerals of 2x2s are hard for Christians. It is a sad time when you see people have been misled by the workers and Satan all these years come to the end of life and realize that they have rejected Jesus Christ and chosen to be "liked" by the workers instead of being approved by God.

Reject His Commandments? Broke his Covenant? Deny your Sin? Didn't Believe? Didn't Repent?

When a 2x2 dies, having rejected the law of God, broke God's covenant, broke God's commandments and having rejected God's message of "repent and believe" , then they go do Hades (the place of the dead), where they sleep there, as the Bible teaches, waiting until the second resurrection.

1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

While the overseers and workers biggest boast and claim is that they go out like the apostles, this is an open lie. Ever read Matthew 10? Luke 10? Workers don't raise the dead, cast out demons, heal the sick etc. Workers don't even preach the new testament - which is God's law written in our minds and on our hearts. Even if they could and did, that would not earn them salvation.

Revelation 2:2  I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:

Even after it is published all over the world on the Internet, workers still deny being started by the false prophet William Irvine and lie about their history. Only liars lie about their origins to deceive people.

Revelation 21:27  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Outside God's Will

2x2s like to think about being "in the center of God's will." So I mentioned to a 2x2 that they don't even know what the will of God is. I asked them in all their years of attending meetings had they ever heard the will and testament of Jesus Christ? They got very angry. Why should they be angry at me? I'm not the one who kept it from them. You can read the will of Jesus Christ - Hebrews 8. Yes, it's the same law of God.

John 6:38  For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
1 John 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Do you keep the commandments of God? Can you begin to list them? If you don't keep the commandments, and don't even know them, do you think you even know God? How can you claim to love God if you deny him and don't know Him?

Judged by Jesus Christ, not the Workers

There is no use trying to please the workers: It doesn't matter how many meetings you attended. Doesn't matter how much money you gave the workers. Doesn't matter how many lunches you invited the workers over for. Doesn't matter how many nights the workers stayed in your home. Doesn't matter how many people you invited to meetings. Doesn't matter whether you professed in a workers' meeting. Doesn't matter if you were baptized by a worker. won't be judged by workers at the great white throne. Judgment is according to law - the law of God. Jesus said so.

John 12:48  He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

Before we die, it is good to know what we will be judged by. If we believe the Bible, we will seek to please Jesus Christ and keep his words.

God's Judgment

There is no eternal torment for people who have rejected the gospel of Jesus Christ, but there is eternal punishment. They will be thrown into the lake of fire, and their soul will be destroyed - forever. This is the eternal punishment as taught by the apostles. It is called the second death and happens after the second resurrection.

The Great White Throne

Revelation 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Rising in Judgment

Matthew 12:42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

Want to Inherit Eternal Life

If you would like to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ, it is this: "Repent of your sins." What is sin? It is transgression of God's law. (1 John 3:4) What is the law of God? It is the ten commandments. (Deuteronomy 5) It is God's will that we keep his commandments. (Hebrews 8) This is explained clearly in all the Bibles of the world and explained in Hebrews 8.

Is God's law In Your Mind and Heart?

If God's law isn't in your mind and heart, how in the world are you going to explain this to God when you are part of the second resurrection and face God on the great white throne?

Assurance of the Saved

For those of us who love God, keep his commandments and love the brethren (disciples of God), then we know we are saved. God's word assures us of salvation. The apostle John wrote in his general epistle:

1 John 5:1  Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

We will reign with Christ a thousand years.

Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Large Funerals

With the more "faithful" friends, people are expected to attend their funerals. Funerals of 2x2s are typically large events. If it is someone "important", like a worker, then many workers will show up at the funeral. Many of the friends will attend. At workers funerals, typically more than one worker will speak, all giving their approval, of course and preaching the worker into heaven. Percy Watkins was a senior worker in the UK who they claimed committed suicide, but even he had the approval of other workers.

Workers are more likely to have a person's funeral than go visit someone in a nursing home. I think that when I was a worker we went to visit a nursing home with 2x2 people in it twice.

Funerals for 2x2s often have greater attendance not because the person necessarily had many friends, but because some workers expect people to show up at a professing person's funeral whether they knew them or not.

2x2 Funeral Notes

On the right are links to notes about funerals of 2x2s which often show what workers believe.

God wants us to believe on him, receive his word, repent of our sins, accept Jesus Christ, keep his commandments and make disciples of the whole world.

Workers may speak at funerals and think they have the last say, but God is the beginning and the end.

To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. - Jesus Christ speaking to Saul, see Act 26:18, see Salvation through Jesus Christ.
