2x2 Teachings on Prayer

Prayer is a mighty source of power when we open our hearts out to our God and we do not revert to vain repetition! Pray like Hannah, Nehemiah, David, and others prayed! You will be full of the Holy Spirit! He will control your life! Pray about your family, your school life etc. Tell God your troubles. Prayer is not a formality. Prayer is not a mandate. Prayer is a link between God and man! Studies are showing the power of prayer today. Of course in your schools you cannot pray in many school systems. But you can offer a silent prayer when it is needed. There are times when you need the power of God and you should never feel too unworthy to pray when you have sinned. Read Psalms 51 written by King David when he had killed Uriah the Hittite in order to have a relationship with Bathsheba! We pray because we are sinners dependent on God! Go for it! It is a power we seldom access to its fullest! We can be full of the Holy Ghost! God loves you! God loves you! God loves you! God loves you! May all have the power of God at work in their lives! - Eldon Tenniswood

As a 2x2, I learned not to pray for "natural" things. I would not pray about a test at school, or for a job or those types of things. Now I pray about many things. If my truck is having mechanical problems.

The Bible

Joh 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Joh 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Mat 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. - Jesus Christ speaking to Saul, see Act 26:18, see Salvation through Jesus Christ.
