Beliefs of the 2x2 religion
In this section I systematically go through the primary beliefs of the 2x2 religion and show their lies, hypocrisy and deceit.
These pages about 2x2 beliefs are primarily for people trying to help 2x2s see the light of day, for people being recruited to become a 2x2 and for people who have quit attending meetings and would like to know how they've been deceived in order to prevent it again. I recommend that you go through each of the links on the right and learn the teachings, tactics, misused scripture and how to refute every single teaching.
If you are a 2x2, then I challenge you to read each page and try to correct me. There is a form at the bottom of each page for your feedback. Simply saying "you're wrong" is a waste of time. You need evidence and show me what you think are errors.
If you are an overseer or worker, then I challenge you to read these pages and try to answer them. Just saying this website if "full of lies" to your followers is really lame. If you really believe in God, then you should find out how you've twisted the scripture and repent of your sins. You should want to avoid destroying yourself.
Some scriptures are hard to understand, but not impossible. You just need to read them for what they say and ask God for help.
2 Peter 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
When I was a 2x2, I was blind to these lies. I would believe the workers without much questioning and try to overlook the contradictions in order to justify my religion. I would tuck hypocrisy away and locked each door as I tried to move "forward" in life. Having been out of the cult for about 13 years now, God has opened my eyes to see the lies that I once accepted as a child. I am able to retrieve memories of events and compare them to the lies the workers taught so that the hypocrisy is obvious now. Today the 2x2 beliefs are ridiculous to me and realize I probably only bought into it because I was raised in it.
If you are a 2x2 or a someone who has recently left the 2x2s, I hope that these pages will help you see through the workers and the lies they teach. Also I hope to go over the scriptures that the workers misrepresent and give you a good understanding of them. This way you won't be bothered by these verses that were used by the workers to supposedly support their beliefs.
Hopefully you will see how dangerous it is to sit in a room while only the workers are allowed to speak and nobody is able to ask questions to shop that they don't know God, don't understand the Bible, are teaching lies and living in hypocrisy.
The evidence I present here is from the Bible and what is commonly known by the 2x2 themselves.
Awkardly Sharing Beliefs as Teenager
As a young teen, my neighbor asked me what we believed. I told him what the workers told my mother, and what my mother told me to say - "We believe in meetings in the homes, a homeless ministry without a salary, no tv, and no church buildings.
This statement of our beliefs has been carefully crafted by workers of the 2x2 religion for years. It shows a sharp contrast to many other Christian denominations and makes ambitious claims that appeal to the ignorant and unbelieving. It is based on misinterpretation of scripture as to what God's preachers are like and lies about the actual goings on of the workers which can be hard to investigate. Again, this statement of belief (or disbelief) is well thought out. I expose these beliefs as lies and heresies - see the links on the right that cover many topics of the 2x2 beliefs.
Just because people say something doesn't mean they really believe it, practice it and live it without hypocrisy.
Why don't you just hold onto your beliefs and I will hold onto mine?
Well, it didn't happen to me.
Some people excuse the beliefs and actions of the workers. When workers have molested someone's children they may say, "Well it didn't happen to me.". Ok? So how would they feel if they went to court to prosecute someone who molested their kids and the jury walked out saying, "We didn't see it and it didn't happen to our kids. Have a nice day." ?
This belief of theirs reminds me of Cain who slew his Abel. When God asked Cain where Abel was, Cain replied "Am I my brother's keeper?" Obviously Cain didn't care about his brother and this is what I experienced from the friends of the workers. Not a single one of them cared about me.
Evidence of Beliefs
Some claim that the 2x2s do not publish their creed. But whether the 2x2s write their creed on paper or not, it can be "read" by reading of what the workers do.
Actions speak louder than words. Many 2x2s will deny or remain silent when you present their beliefs. Often they are afraid to admit them. Their beliefs are arrogant, disgraceful and repulsive. You may not get any satisfaction by them admitting their beliefs. But actions speak louder than words. Observe.
2x2 beliefs are known by what they preach. And who they kick out. And why. Their beliefs are discovered by what their members say during their "testimony" at Sunday morning meetings. They are known by the reasons why they give people the evil eye, the cold shoulder, the look that reveals they think you are a monster or a villain. Their beliefs are seen in how they respond to people whose children have been molested by workers. Or by their response to husbands whose wives were seduced by workers. There are many eye-witnesses, and eye-witnesses hold great credibility in a court of law.
Don't Get Lulled
While sitting in their "gospel meetings", and after you get over the uncomfortable quietness in the beginning of the meetings, you might enjoy the melancholy, uninspired singing, the seemingly harmless soothing prayers and their quiet, subtle preaching which has an appearance of godliness. You may enjoy the vague, wandering preaching filled with insinuations and their use of allegories and feeling that you have come to find "the one true way", the "body of Christ", the "original church". But I would like to warn you friend, of their real beliefs.
You may say, "I've gone to meetings for years and haven't heard some of these beliefs." That may very well be true, or you may be in denial. I've been a worker and know their beliefs. I learned them as a child and taught them as an adult. And whether you've experience the many stories I've heard or not, you have to accept what the workers have done and accept all the people kicked out for believing the Bible above the workers teachings. The workers kick people out only through permission of the overseers and the "older brothers".
If you don't believe what I've written here, then no problem. Just print the pages to the right (listing their beliefs) and take it to the workers. Get their permission to record the conversation (doubt they would agree) and go down the beliefs I've listed. Do you already feel the anxiety and fear? Why? Doesn't this anxiety and fear tell you something about what you already know about them?
I am going to list their main beliefs and give a short summary first. A more detailed explanation of the beliefs can be found in the individual pages whose links are to the right.
The primary belief of the 2x2s is that the workers are the true servants of God. If you say and believe this, you should know that they believe that if you don't keep coming to meetings and profess, then you are going to hell. So if you accept them as true servants of God, then you have condemned Christians around the world as going to hell. This primary teaching of theirs is reason enough to know they are not of God.
1 John 2:21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
You may say "I've never heard this in a meeting." And I agree. It's not openly taught. They have many unwritten beliefs and rules (unwritten as far as paper) that are only written on their minds by the workers.
Positive proof that this is their primary belief is found by their actions. And actions speak louder than words.
Here is an example that has happened many times: If someone believes that Jesus Christ is God, then the workers will ask the person if they believe that they are the true servants of God. There are two possibilities: 1) If the person will not say that they are the only true servants of God, then the person is no longer allowed to speak in meetings. 2) If you do say they are the true servants of God, then they may tell you that the belief that Jesus Christ is God is a teaching of the devil. The result: Either you maintain your faith in Christ, or they kick you out because of your contradiction (claiming to believe in them yet believe in Jesus Christ as Lord of all and that they are wrong about this being a teaching of the devil).
See also Is Jesus Christ God
The reason why the workers ask if you believe they are the only true servants of God is that if you don't, then they believe you are going to hell. They believe that you are no longer worthy of fellowship and they won't allow you to participate in meetings. They know you fear getting kicked out.
Also, workers are afraid that people will believe in Jesus Christ instead of them. They know their organization would fall apart because it is founded on sand. The cult is falling apart anyway. There are fewer workers. More people are leaving meetings. More people are learning about child sexual abuse by worker. More people are learning about the Bible. More workers are quitting from the abuse. Fewer people are professing. More people are quitting the professing thing. Even young children are more honest about their religion than their parents.
If you believe that the workers are the only true servants of God, then you call Jesus Christ a liar and claim that he is not God. Agreeing with the workers makes you partaker of their evil deeds. This is explained very clearly in John's second epistle:
2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
Another proof of their main belief is that you are not allowed to speak in meetings until you profess/ join. They want you to commit and profess before you can take part. And even then, they won't allow you communion until you have prove yourself and are baptized by them. They don't accept Christian baptism.
Church Continuance Through Sacrifice of Workers
2x2s believe that their church can only continue through the sacrifice of the workers. They don't believe that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ is good enough to remove sins. No, they believe that it is through the "sacrifice" of the workers that people can be part of the "one true way". And you should know, that they claim also that they don't know if someone is saved. They say you cannot judge such a thing. So on one hand, they condemn all to hell who don't join, but on the other hand they say you cannot know if you are saved. The resounding conclusion is that they don't know how you can be saved.
Cannot Know if You are Saved
The 2x2s claim that you cannot know if you are saved. In other words, they believe the opposite of what Jesus Christ taught. Jesus Christ taught that you can know if you are saved. The apostles also taught that you can know if you are saved. Let's looks at what Jesus Christ said and also John's epistle:
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
Second Biggest Belief
The second biggest belief is that if you are not a 2x2 and don't join, that you are going to hell. There are some exceptions. Like if you never met a worker, but if you did you would go to meeting and profess, then maybe you could be saved.
The 2x2s don't believe that Jesus Christ is God. They don't believe that Jesus Christ is the Word of God that is God as taught by the apostle John in John 1:1-3.
